According to his sig, a Mitsubishi WD62825 DLP.

Bulbs appear to be in the neighborhood of $175 without a housing, over $200 with.

Speaking of bulbs...my Sony is over 4yrs old with the original bulb & the picture is as crisp & sharp as day one. Should I start counting the days I have left??? Maybe order one so it's on hand when the moment arrives.

with all of todays advancements in TV displays.. they certainly don't hold up well over time like the old tube ones do/did how many of us plan to keep our LCD's, Plasma's, DLP's for 10+ years? Ha! lucky if you get 5 yrs out of it.

To be fair, newer tube TVs don't last nearly as long as their predecessors either. Electronics have become much more disposable.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Of course money spent on TV is forever wasted, unlike say money spent on musical audio gear.
