woke up at 1:30am and could not get back to sleep, so i head down stairs to watch some mindless TV. Press the power button on the remote hear the MIT's starting up and then an odd little snap noise well as soon as my brain figures what it was the TV kindly lets me know that my bulb just went out so much for mindless TV but hey i got my PC w/ a 19" wide screen and a DVD player in the guest bed all is well and all i is order up a new one

Speaking of bulbs...my Sony is over 4yrs old with the original bulb & the picture is as crisp & sharp as day one. Should I start counting the days I have left??? with all of todays advancements in TV displays.. they certainly don't hold up well over time like the old tube ones do/did how many of us plan to keep our LCD's, Plasma's, DLP's for 10+ years? Ha! lucky if you get 5 yrs out of it.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

To be fair, newer tube TVs don't last nearly as long as their predecessors either. Electronics have become much more disposable.If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
