.....errrrr, they were excellent last night. But since my amp had different plans, the tl's now sport "crispy" drivers and "toasty" tweeters. Crossovers have not been checked, but it's a safe bet that they have that distinctive smell to them, the kind of wonderful odor that only burnt electronics can produce.
At this point I don't know what they're worth. I heard that Polk sells replacement drivers and tweeters....do they also sell crossovers?

Joes, don't throw the towel in yet. Polk does make replacement drivers and there are always used ones available on e-bay. It's a pain to have to source some drivers and rebuild a x-over, but in the end the SDA's are worth it.
Take some time and assess the situation before throwing them up FS. It's going to be hard to set a price especially if you yourself don't even know how much damage was done.
Good luck bro!

Drivers are available used here or new from Polk. As for the crossovers, they aren't very difficult if you can use a iron. If you don't feel as you're able to rebuild them, I'm sure you could find someone to help you.
You can also look at this as a good opportunity to upgrade the tweeters and crossovers."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
Joe, I would advise holding off on selling these. It's obviously your decision and I can respect whatever you decide, but you are probably not gonna get much on the used market for non-working speakers. It shouldn't take too much $$$ to get those bad boys back up and running.
A little patience, a little help from CP and the desire to get them back up and running should get you up and running in short order. This is definitely a good time to consider upgrading as well.
Good things come to those who wait.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
Sorry to hear Joe. Take time to fix them. The market is down right now so it may be for the best. Good luck.

Joe don't fret on the XO. I have you covered. Even if the board is completely toasted I can build you a new one. Don't worry, breath easy, true Polkies take care of Polkies. Take it easy, and take your time. We can get them to better than new specs.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks
