Maz - if you don't mind, report back what you think of it. I am thinking of picking up the same trimmer, but would like an actual user report first.

    Thanks,

    Michael

Will do. I don't plan on getting it for another week or two, due to the distance of the nearest dealer and my work schedule. I'll have to make due with the Bolens for now, if I can get it started!

This Stihl has been very good for me. I've got the straight shaft string trimmer and the edger so far.

Husky 323L (I think the new model is the 325L). I've worked this thing hard, both general yard work and using the brush cutter head to clear brush and saplings on the farm. Still runs like it was new.

Leaving the house now to pick this guy up. I have some inside work to do first so I may not have any input until tomorrow.

All my yard equipment is Stihl (2 trimmers, 2 leaf blowers, 1 chain saw, 2 safety helmets w/ear muffs). The trimmers have the bike handles and I would have nothing else. You just can't get a better one IMO, just use their pre-measured oil and you'll be good to go for a long time.

I enjoy my Worx GT. Ive had it for a year or so, and it seems reliable and is electric powered so its WAY quieter than what my neighbours have :(

Oddly enough my Ryobi has been decent... but if I were gonna replace it I would do so with an Echo for sure. 5 year warranty. A little bit of power makes a big difference in tall weeds.

My vote is for the stihl kombi system. We sell a lot of these units, and there is a good assortment of attachments. I would personally spring for the km90 over the 55. Well worth the additional $80.
