SOLD!

This may be a long shot on here but I'll give it a try. I know there are at least a few Canon SLR shooters here.

I need to sell my lightly-used 420EX. This is a G.N. 138 (ft./105mm/ISO100) flash unit that is ETTL compatible with all Canon "type A" bodies (which includes all the DSLR's as well as most of the 35mm film bodies newer than, say, the Elan II - Rebel G, and TTL compatible with older "type B" back to the manual focus T-90. It also works well on several of the higher-end Canon P&S cameras that have a hotshoe, like the G-series and the S5 IS.

It'll also function as an ETTL wireless slave, controllable by a 550 or 580EX or the ST-E2 transmitter, which is how I mostly used it. What it won't do is allow you to set flash power manually on the flash unit: If you need to do that, then you'll need to do what I did and buy the newer 430EX.

I've used this flash with a G2, a 300D/Digital Rebel(use hacked firmware to get FEC!), and a 5D, and it's worked great with all of them. If you're still using the pop-up flash, buy this and you'll be amazed at how much your flash pictures will improve. You'll be bouncing off the walls and ceilings in no time! Speaking of that, if I sell to someone on this forum I'll include a foam bounce card (nothing you couldn't make yourself, but I'll do it for you) and a gold-colored Sto-fen Omni bounce diffuser. The gold, CTO-colored diffuser will help color balance the flash to tungsten: Very handy for shooting in tungsten-lit environments, since you can white balance for tungsten and avoid having your flash-lit areas stand out so stark white against the orange ambient. There's lots of cool things you can do with it actually.

So we have the flash, with the box and all the paperwork, the soft pouch, the little stand to set it up off-camera, the Sto-fen diffuser and a homemade bounce card. Just add batteries. Condition is like-new save for some marks on the head where I've had various accessories attached, and possibly a scuff or two that I haven't noticed (nothing stands out). I figure this would go on e-bay for $150-$175, but I'd much rather sell it here. I do have to pay for the other one I got though, so I need to get $135 shipped (lower 48, please. Canadians contact me and we'll talk about it.) Prefer money order, check's okay if I "know" you, and paypal is doable with some conditions. I'll add a picture a little bit later. Please respond here before PM. Thanks for looking!

    Hi Joe

Is your daughter in the States, perhaps? PM me so we can discuss shipping. I'm just about to have to go to work, so I might not be able to reply until tomorrow.

    Thanks,
    Jason
