Anyone brave the new service PAC for Vista? I'm going to go for it. I normally recommend waiting on new service pacs, but being in IT I have to deal with this stuff when it comes out.

I installed SP1 last month and all went smooth.

Took about 30 minutes on a 2.8 dual core with 3 gigs of mem..no problems.

Same here... about 30 mins with no problem on a dual-core laptop.

Installed on 3 of my machines. 2 C2D and 1 4600+ machine (64-bit Vista installed). On the laptops (c2d) it took about 30-40 minutes but my desktop (4600+, 64-bit) only took about 20 minutes. I also have 4 GB of ram in it as well as a WD Raptor (10,000 rpm WD HD) so I'm sure that may have helped :D

Microsoft was blocking Windows Update from certain people who had drivers known to be incompatable with SP1. Not sure if that's still the case or not but if it is you could be in for a rough ride.

I do have on yellow mark in the device manager, can't for the life of me figure out what its for though, it just shows unknown device......Everything else is working fine except for the sound drivers, the sound is just terrible. Its an old SB Live card and theres no drivers from Creative for it, am just using Vista's.

I'm not using Vista very much actually, I have it dual booted with xp so am mainly in xp most of the time.....

I usually download the IT service pack. The full versions are less likely to fail on installation.
