Is this a good circular saw?

I was cruisin' Sears today and ran across this circular saw:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00925817000P

The regular price is $139.99 and it was NIB @ 50% off plus another 10% off that price. I'll rarely use it, but I'm a sucker for a "good deal." It will replace a cheap circular saw I bought 16 years ago.

I don't know much about power tools. Just wondering -- is this purchase a good deal? If not, I can always return it.

Thanks.

I'm not a carpenter, but looks like a good deal. The only suggestion I've got, is to go to the Lowes/HD sites, and find comparable specs from the other brands like Dewalt, Makita etc. and check the price range.
Don't really see how you can go wrong for that price, especially if you don't use that much.

Not sure if they are still on sale or even in stock. but Home Depot had a Makita for 25.00 on clearance, I got it and it works just fine. The model that replaced it was 35 or 39.00.

I think that is a very good deal on a 15 amp circular saw. Would never find a 15 amp up here that cheap.

Sears stuff generally has good warrantees and good service as well.

Yeah, it was a good deal. I have an old Craftsman Commercial that's probably 30 yrs old now, and it's still going strong....Even after it accidentally went swimming in our pool a couple of years ago.

I'd like a nicer one, but I can't justify the cost over what I already have.
My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

A good blade is 90% of having good cuts. The frame is a nice cast frame on your unit. Looks nice. Don't cut yourself!
