    Monitor 10's.

That price is on the high side IMO.

    I agree.

I would pass and wait for a cheaper pair if it were me.

How do the Monitor 10's fall into the older lineup? I'm not familiar with the older stuff. Anything good about em? What is a good price if I were able to haggle? $150?

IMO, I wouldn't pay over $100 unless they had the Peerless or new replacement tweeters(RDO's), which those don't have.

As a whole, the 10's fairly desireable on the vintage lineup. IMO, peerless 7's are the best of the bunch out of the old monitors. They sound great, image well, and have a surprising amount of punch for a small speaker.

If you do grab them, I would recommend putting them on stands, tilted back if possible. On the floor, especially hardwood or tile, they will be very boomy.

Personally I really like the 10's. I am not as much of a fan of the SL2000 tweeter though. I would go with Peerless (original), replacement RDO (polk replacement for the SL2000) or SL2500 (Series II) tweeter.

The 10's do not image as well as the 7's (from what people say), but I find them to be a hugely fun speaker to listen to and really enjoy my pair. (mine are the series II)
