I just bought these from MKZ. This is the retailed version with BFA bananas (silver plated) on both amp and speaker ends. Probably not even burnt in yet. Original box and factory terminated.

I can tell they have some good solid core wire in them. They are easy to bend but when I grab the ends, the ends stay bent and don't flop around like a rubber snake :) These are the real deal and not some ebay knock-offs.

They sound great but I'm too used to my romex 10 ga which is more laid back and subdued than these. A must try for someone currently using stranded wire. These are going to be a little less loud and boomy but you're going to gain quite a bit of detail, clarity, instrument separation, etc.

SOLD $100 SOLD shipped USPS conus. Money order only.

I basically bought these to demo them. For the price, I don't think you'll find anything that sounds better but I'm already running 10 ga. single strand solid core copper with my romex.

Most would prefer the AQ over the romex because the AQ sounds louder and it's a hell of a lot easier to work with. I've got used to the refined, clear, detailed sound of the romex so when I did a left vs right comparison, it didn't take but about a hour to hear the differences and decide I prefer the romex.

The AQ is basically a no brainer if you're currently running lamp cord or stranded electrical wire or any of the other commercial cables that use stranded conductors because most likely you will gain quite a bit of clarity, detail and instrument separation (less distortion). The AQ's 2 solid core single strand conductors give you a combined wire of 15 ga which would be hard to find anywhere else for this price.

I’m sorry to hear that Carl doesn’t like it. It probably needed a little sugar coated :D.
This is a nice pair of speaker wire. Not as a matter of fact that I changed because of its bad sounding. As soon as after I connect the Type4 to my speaker it really made me tempting to upgrade CV-4. In my understanding AudioQuest does great products on each and every price level. Currently, I’m still wanted to hear CV-8 and wonder how it will sound in my system. As you know, YMMV each and every system sounds differently based on your pre, processor, amp, wire, speaker, etc..

The type 4 has excellent grain-free treble, but lighter on mid-bass than most multi-strand. This is a very good cable, especially for speakers that are a bit "thick" in the mid-bass or have a hashy mid-range.

I'll be glad to let someone demo these before you buy them if you have at least 1 positive sales rating on here.

    Demo?

I am sure you could do better than that with all the money saved on tweeters.

The type 4 is very good in my system. I run it double bi-wire with cv4 going to the highs. I have no plans to change it. You could also run it single bi-wire with the four strands for super economy.

I cut it as needed so my longest is 20+' and the shortest is 4'.

Yes it's a solid single wire for each + and -

I haven't experimented with the 12 ga or 14 ga. 10 ga might be overkill but that's what I started with and have stuck with it.
