A few prayers please!!

I just got the news that my Uncle Robert committed suicide. It's hard to explain the feeling at this moment. He wasn't doing too well health wise & we suspect that that had a lot to do with it along with depression.

One puzzling thing is that he seemed in very good spirits & in fact he just moved back to Philadelphia after selling his house, car & all the furniture in Florida. He was staying with a friend of his & was going down to live with my aunt in Maryland on Saturday. The whole family was excited that Uncle Robert was coming to stay with them. He was in his late 70's & I'll guess we'll never know what led him to this. It's still hard to believe. He was a great guy & my favorite uncle to boot. He will be missed.

    My condolences and prayers. I feel a bond having grown up in Haddon Heights. I know how senseless it seems, but only your uncle knew what was in his head. No need to try to understand. :(

    I can never imagine all the things that one must be feeling inside that makes them want to commit suicide....it is so sad for everybody. Condolences Phil.

    Same thing happened last April with my mom's boyfriend/companion of 14 years. He committed suicide in the storage building in the back yard of her house. He had many bad things going against him and I guess it finally got to be more than he could handle.

    Sorry for your loss. I can relate as my favorite uncle killed himself also a few years back. I often wonder why he did it, which made the loss much harder to bear. Still, time heals all wounds and you will be in my prayers.

    I'm sorry to hear that. I've never experienced that, but it has to be a shock to the system.

    Hey, everyone...thanks so much for your support & prayers. It is greatly appreciated. It has been a tough time for sure.

    On a side note, the police did find a suicide note but haven't released it to us yet. Hopefully this will provide us with a better understanding of Robert's pain & give us some sort of closure. We'll probably never fully understand but I can live with that. I'll just always remenber him as being a really great guy. Again, thanks.
