This lady came into the store to purchase a gift certificate...

I was about to walk out of the store to get some food, but my coworker didnt know how to do a GC -- so I had to show her...

Well, I set my keys down on the counter --- big mistake. The lady picks them up on accident and leaves with them. I get ready to leave and my keys are gone!

So my store keys, house keys, and truck key (my one and only truck key) are gone!

Im so pissed, annoyed, and unsure of what to do. I called the lady and left a message and am retrying every 30 minutes...

If she dosnt return my keys or whatever, it will cost around 500 bucks to rekey my entire truck...

Not counting store keys and house keys...

Life always throws punches

Sorry to hear your misfortune. Always, always, always.... keep a spare key available. I learned this the hard way when I went out-of-town and the one time in my life I locked the keys in the car. The locksmith had my Jeep door open in 15 seconds. Those guys are amazing.

I had a strange incident regarding my CDP's remote (about 3yrs ago). I couldn't find it...for months, looked everywhere, tore stuff apart...NOTHING. I thought this was really strange because I keep all my remotes in one spot--all the time. Well, $69 later, and shipment from Canada via Japan (CEC) I got a new remote.

Fast forward to about a month ago. I'm at my friends house and what do I see? MY FRIGGIN CEC CDP REMOTE SITTING ON THEIR COUCH! I ask them how the heck my CDP remote ended up at their house...they were baffled. Now I have 2 $69 remotes. ARRGGG

Similar thing happened to my parents. They found theirs when they recovered the recliner. It was basically in the pocket of fabric on the side of the recliner on the inside. That thing had been missing for at least 7 or 8 years.

Sid - sounds like a pretty crappy day overall. Maybe that lady didn't take your keys. What if you just left them on a box or something in the back? You'll probably run across them there.

    Good luck man.

I talked to Sid on AIM last night, and he said as it turns out, he had misplaced his keys on a box in the back, actually. So, he later ran across them there.
