Well, this Pre/Pro is on the chopping block since I got my Lexicon that does 7.1. This is a nice unit and a great way to get into separates without spending too much coin. As far as SQ goes, the HT on this is sweet. It's way better than any receiver I've listened to and the 2 channel sounds good too. Watching a movie with this pre/pro excites the senses, and the channels have good separation and clarity. One feature I really like on it is that you can turn the display off if you want to watch or listen in the dark and don't want all the flashy lights and such. This is a great way to get into separates!

Is there any interest in this unit, or am I wasting my time?

I'll also throw in a pair of my new "Baby Z" speaker cables, your choice of length under 20'. It's a 12g twisted pair in a PVC interior jacket and a black Techflex exterior jacket. They have a nice sound and are less then half and inch in diameter. Any takers?

My current setup sounds a little harsh on the high end and I've been thinking of upgrading. Do you think this component would pair well with my trusty old Monitor 10's and my CS 20 center? I would be driving them with an Adcom GFA-555 for the mains and an Adcom GFA-2535 for the center and rears.
BTW, are you in the military? I don't often see the term CONUS used in civilian life. -
The Marantz really shines at HT, but also sounds good for 2 channel. I spent most of the year last year using it for integrated HT and 2 Ch and liked the set-up. On my old Kefs, the highs sounded good and I had no complaints, even when listening to female vocals. I've used this with a number of Polk speakers and thought all of them sounded warm, so I think it might do your Monitors well. Where would I be shipping this to?BTW, are you in the military? No, I'm just that cool. -
Whoops, I just did a little more research and it looks like this model doesn't do DTS. That's a deal-breaker, but thanks anyway.
