guys recently the Alpine dealer of mexico introduced the KTX-100EQ for my CDA-9887 and in a decent price.

did anyone here, have it?

i belive in Mac when he says that it is better to tune the HU by an expert instead of using a computer

but the KTX-100EQ would unlock the other features that my HU have one of them is the bass and treble adjustments wich are nessesary becouse the sub is to low, and i have a 700 RMS Polk SR 124 DVC

so any opinions?

the SR6500 im still loking for them i think i will buy them on my next trip to USA, probably on summer or in polk fest.

the reviews all say that it is good. yes, an expert can get same results.. but it will still take hours of work and (perhaps) special equipment (at least special test CDs)

the cost to you will be the same. cause experts charge a lot of money to tune.

Car audio and Electronics magazine did a review of the 9887 and ktx-100eq recently and it was highly recommended. i have the 9887 and plan to get the ktx-100eq in a few months from now.

crutchfield has a rental program for the device. (so i was told)

yeah the rental plan sems to be a good idea, but since i live in mexico city its not an option for me, and also im changing the polk dbs for a set of polk srs, so i will need it again in a few weeks or months.

also since im going to be one of the few to have them here (they only bring 9) i can rent it to my friends, and earn the money i spend on it.

Whats's the difference between the KTX-100EQ and the PXE-H560?

i think that the PXE-H560, is for any HU, and the KTX-100EQ is just for the 9887 becouse the 9887 already have part of the system on it.

    but im not sure

the H650 is great for those who want to keep their stock system. and yes, it is standalone IMPRINT... so it will work with any HU.

    it is bloody expensive tho!

be warned guys/girls ... i spoke with alpine yesterday. the 9887 WITH the ktx-100eq is not meant for IASCA sound Q competitors.

now that's what the dude said. but i think he was just reading from a screen. i am almost certain u can trick it into focusing center image at center of the dash by placing the mic in ONE location for both positional tests!

So what are u SUPPOSED to do? Do you put the mic that comes with it like right in ur seat where ur butt is? Or do u hold it like where your head'll be or what? How do you do it? I'll be (later on) getting the 9887 and the IMPRINT software so for future reference I'll need to know this

guys the Imprint module arrived today...

it sounds awesome, really recomended (just read all the instructions carefully)

i cant wait to have the Polk SRs comps, and hear the Imprint with them.

im just waiting to solve a problem with the bank to buy internationally again, and also to buy the plane tickets to polk fest

I plan on doing this with my CDA-9887. I will try a couple of things, but will set it up mainly for the driver. I've been meaning to try it out for a while, just have not had the time lately. Another reason I have not posted here in a while....

How is the sound compared to what you had before you used the Imprint software?

    it is different..

sounds more powerfull, since it activates the MX

the main difference, is that you feel like in a concert..

for example in one of my songs, i can hear one of the voices on the right, at the bottom, and the other one at my left and in the front.

so the soundstage is way better, the bass on my comps, is more powerfull and without distortion (like on bose systems), but i cant go over 25/26 of the volume

its different, maybe i should check it for a week from now, and tell you my impressions after hearing more songs with more calm

    ^^^ wow...

can you fool the imprint into putting center as the center of your dash by placing the measurement mic in the center of the vehicle? (ie- between front seats)

oh.. .some notes on the 100eq...

-remove headrest before mounting mic. it causes absoption and the imprint will colour your top-end freqs.
-place mic on a stand at ear-level ... ie-- where your ears would be if u were in the seat.

damn.. wonder how my SRs would do on this? you got the momos?

thanks i didnt remove the headrest, i will do it again
and no I have DB comps on the front, SR on the sub

and yes you dont need to fool the system just ask for the front center position measuring, and thats all

Rent it from Crutchfield, use it once then send it back. 9887 has imprint built in, once you use the software you will only have access to gains, 2 sets of EQ curves since Imprint tunes to driver and one other location, bass, treble, etc. I went to dealer yesterday and he says its outstanding. Ive read mixed reviews on it, search it on caraudioforum.com and read up.

PD: did anyone here, knows how to change from curve one to curve two, in the HU?
