Epik Knight Mid-Bass

There is a member who owns an Epik Knight that was willing to do some evaluations for me. He stated that there was one at his place of employment. I was wondering about the quality of sound in the 40 - 80hz range (music). The original post was lost due to problems that were occuring with the board. I was also interested a overall impression of that sub. I looking to place an order in the next couple of days. If that poster or any poster could respond to this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ordered a Knight about a week and a half ago. Will be using it in a 4500 cu. ft. from. Any comments on the Caliber since it is similar? By the way, what size room are you using it in and does ti do the job?

Yeah the knight and the caliber are the same amp and driver the only difference is the size of the box. THe bigger box is just tunned a little lower than the knight. Has your knight Shipped? 4500 cu ft is perfect but before you get the knight i would crawl around (if you have a sub now)and try to find the ideal spot for the knight. Placement is everything. Wait until you see the size of the box i had to change my livingroom around.

I love it i will when i get it dialed in do some test but i am still setting it up. my friend has a caliber and thats what made me buy one because it sounded so good. As far as the performance it has not clipped or cut out at all and you will feel the bass before you can hear it.

If you haven't already get an SPL meter download some test tones and REW from HTS. Concentrate on getting the blend at the crossover seamless, then your FR below that. With a sub like the Calibre you'll most likely have a ton of room gain below 30hz. Getting that flat and filling in any nulls then gets a bit tricky if you're unlucky, but once you get it be prepared for some super bass. I doubt you'll ever bottom the driver, unless you run it too hot.

Congrats on your toy. If you still want to hear the Ultra let me know. I definitely want to hear the Calibre :D

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

How do you use the SPL (i know it should be @ 75db) and where do you get the test tone cd and software. If you would not mind telling me how to do properly set the sub up that would be cool.:)
