I have the chance to pick up the Carver TFM-35X for $200 local from the original owner.

Do you think it is worth it? Does anybody have any experience with this amp?

I plan to pair it with my rti12's.

Thanks!

Come on, $200.00 for any working amp is dirt cheap. Just keep in mind that you often get what you pay for.

Wow. That is a great deal. I had a TFM-35 and then later a pair of TFM-45's which I've subsequently and regrettably sold. They are great sounding amps and the analog meters look especially 'cool'. Check the meter lights as they often go out but can be replaced by diyer for cheap. Good luck and let us know how it ya like.

Picked it up. Has a few scratches on the case, it's missing the rack handles, and the lights are out.

But it works. I still have not had a chance to crank it up because of the misses.

I will report back later with results.

I got my light fixed for 30.00 bucks and got two spare lamps, also handles are available for cheap. You can still buy face plates and paint the case to make it all brand new !!!
