If you don't find any of these then check Head-Fi's FS forum. They seem to pop up once every few weeks or so, the old style not the cheaper new ones.

Why don't you just order some, they're not expensive.

That USED to be the case, but now most places want nearly $20 per cable after shipping. I don't see that as worth the money like they used to be at $4-5 a cable. For a little more than the current cost of the volex I could get a PS audio power/super punch cable.

Edit: Carlton Bates has them for just over $8, but they don't have them in stock and they have no idea when they're getting any in stock.

Edit again. I did find them at Arrow Electronics for around $9, which isn't too bad. I'll probably order them up there.

I assume you know the difference between the old and new style of 17604? If not I know the older ones were made in Mexico not China like the new ones, the new ones don't have the brass plated connectors like the old ones, and I think the wire is a different variant of Belden between the two. I have both and definitely prefer the look and feel of the old ones, albeit I can't hear a difference between them, just differences in perception.

The older ones are said to be much better, there are threads on Head-Fi and Audio Asylum about them.

Hmmmm...I didn't know about the "Chinese" connection. I bought a case of 30 from Carlton Bates some time ago to redo all my gear with, they are NOT brass plated, so I assume they're the "better" ones? I still have 10 left, I wonder if I keep them long enough if the price will go up like 1000%:rolleyes:

The older style are universally thought of as superior, the connectors are folded brass and fit tighter then the newer style ones.
