Please help me with my priorites. My ultimate goal is all timbre with a seperate 5 channel amp .

This is what I'm running:
Onkyo 703 (100x7)
Rti8s
CS400i
rt600s
Klipsch Sub12

A bit of a mixed bag, but sound good together.
What first?

1) A used 5 channel amp that will benefit my current and future setups
2) csi5
3) replace the 600s with something rti/fxi.

Thanks for your thoughts.

You didn't mention a budget limit, but this may not be a bad place to start?

An amp offers a great deal of choices, and you know you will have enough headroom for any future speaker upgrades. As long as your Onkyo has pre-outs, that is.

I have an Adcom GFA555 that woke up a pair of RTi10s like you would not believe.
For the record, the Denon 2106 driving them was 100wpc x 7, no comparison, IMO; I think that 7700 would do the same for you. And no, I'm not set on Adcom, but it is what I happen to own at the moment.

Then maybe think about replacing the surrounds with F/X-type speakers; more flexibility
in the placement dept., better surround effects (it's what they're made for, right?).

This is just my .02, as it looks like your setup would sound fine as it stands. But you asked ;).
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Looks like you have a good upgrade path in place. Go for it.
