HT Setup Advice Wanted - I have RTi25/RT28i so far...
Hi everyone. I have another little critter on the way, so I told the wife I am going to sacrifice and break down one of my audio setups. That leaves me with a couple pairs of speakers that I can now put towards a 5.1 setup.
Right now, I am running RTi25's for my MAINS in a 2-channel HT setup. I am really surprised by the sound these puppies put out (they were great for my 4-year old's first experience w/ Stars Wars and Empire Strikes Back). We have a small living room and do not listen TOO loud. This will be purely an HT setup and not for music.
So, I now have a pair of RT28i's sitting in a box.
QUESTION 1: Which of the two pair should I use for MAINS.
I have been trying to do some research on subwoofers. It seemed that PSW10's looked like a great bargain, but I am worried about a) overpowering it, and b) all of the issues people in the forums have had with it.
QUESTION 2: Is there a "next-step-up" from the PSW10 that is recommendable?
Oh, lastly, Everything is cherry-finished right now, so I'd like to stick with that...but I'm not restricting myself.
Hope I gave you guys good info to work with!!

The RT25/28's are great little speakers. Exceptionally great value too. Don't have any sub advice for you. But, you are off to a great start for a small'ish system. What center speaker are you running?

Sorry man....got lost on the way. The RT25i and RTi28 are basically the same speaker. I'd just stick with what you got or swap in the RTi28 and use the RTi25's for the rears.
The problem was predominately with the PSW202 subwoofer not the PSW10. They are both entry level subwoofers but that's about the only thing in common.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Thanks for that. I am searching for a $150-$200 subwoofer and and havent decided yet. Funny, the PSW10 seems to receive more favorable reviews than the PSW110!

The PSW110 is a newer subwoofer.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
