10/10 for GTA IV

IGN gave GTA IV a 10/10 which, according to their review, they haven't given since 1999.

GameSpot (notorious for low ratings) has also given GTA IV a 10/10, making it only the 5th game they have given a perfect rating.

It's got a rating of 100/100 (99/100 on 360) on Metacritic, which is unheard of.

This game has been hyped so much that I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype. Now it looks like its going to surpass it. I was going to buy the game anyway, but now I can't wait until Tuesday...

I'm hoping amazon is on the ball and I get mine at my door tomorrow.

Hopefully mine isn't one of the ones that gets jacked in transit. :)

Which version do you think will be better Xbox or PS3?

I like the PS3 version because it will be free to play online. But if you already have Xbox live then it doesn't really matter. Both versions will be awesome.

    IGN says this:
"For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch. Either version will do you proud."

I'm debating to jump ship fro Xbox360 and go to PS3 with new games coming out like MGS4. Knowing I can still play GTA4 and Ninja Gaiden on the PS3 compels me eve more. But, I'm not sure I can give up Xbox Live. It seems the consensus is that Sony's Online capabilities are not nearly as smooth.

Playstation Network is just as smooth as Xbox Live. The one thing it lacks is in game messaging and achievements (if you care about achievements).

Really. Are there as many people on? Do you have any trouble finding games online?

I've never had any trouble finding games online, including some of the crappy ps store games (like their poker game for example.) For stuff like COd4, I always connect pretty much instantaneously to a game, so I haven't seen any issues there either.

I had an xbox prior to the ps3, and I'd say the xbox live network has a bit of an edge (in game mssging like Imperitor mentioned), but not enough for me to miss it.

I play FIFA 08, NHL 08, GT5, and COD4 online and I've never had a problem finding games. There are plenty of people playing online with PS3. I guarantee there will be hundreds of thousands of people play GTA IV on PA3 and 360. Finding people/games will not be an issue.

From IGN : Without question, Grand Theft Auto IV is the best game since Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

That my friends is saying A LOT. I feel Zelda's Ocarina of time was my best gaming experience ever. If it surpasses that experience than I will.....well I dont know what I will do, but I have yet to find a game that actually has ever come close to Ocarina. Call of Duty 4, and Rainbow Six Black Arrow are the closest but only because of the multiplayer. Actual game play was fairly short. Maybe Grand Theft Auto 3. Due to the ground breaking playability.

Am I the only person who finds the GTA games tedious and boring?

Granted I'm not much of a gamer anyway.

Maybe the game itself isn't bad if you actually do what you're supposed to, but every time I've ever seen it, it seems like whoever's playing suddenly loses 70 IQ points and then crashes a car into a hooker for 90 minutes and laughs like it's the greatest technological breakthrough of our decade. "Did you see that hooker die?" Awesome.

Not that it makes any difference, but the same guy that outed CoD4, HS and Halo 3 concerning resolutions - found out that the PS3 version is running at a lower resolution while the 360 version is at 720p.

For me, achievements, Downloadable Content and Episodic Content, 360 Joystick, Xbox Live, Friends and achievements make it a must buy for my 360.
I should've listened way back in 2008, they told me I'd go broke... they were right

Last game that really wowed the **** out of me was Ninja Gaiden. I hope GRA4 does the same. Now I just got to figure out what game console to play it on.

    I'll second this.

However, I might give this one another shot to see how it goes. Maybe I was just missing something the first few times around.:o

I enjoyed the early GTA's better. I'd rather just drive around aimlessly smashing things instead of going along with their annoying story line.

Thats what I do in every GTA game. The newer ones just have a larger area and more things to smash.

I had one bug, I walked up the stairs to a house and was aiming my gun when all of a sudden I started falling in black all around and landed on the street in front of the house. lol ps3 version. No biggy, caused no problems but put me in sight for shooting. Lots of fun so far, play games online with other people like pool, and such.

I just saw an article and wanted to see if anyone had a problem here because I was too lazy to click through to the other forums.

    GTA 4 Plagued with bugs

For the record I have a PS3 and do not own a Xbox360. I just wanted to find out about it because if I did get this game it would be for the PS3.

No glitches for me either, but i can see how they could crop up. I mean the initial load time is crazy long. It made me a little nervous loading it, but I did not realize this was actually happening.

Have yet to try the 360 version yet.
