Strange dream parallels...

From a post in the GlockTalk forum I frequent; I found this fascinating.

How many of you have had one (or both) of the following occur in your dreams:

Scenario 1:
In your dream, you have a gun that will not fire, jams, or when it does fire the bullet just falls out of barrel, and/or has no effect on the bad guy.

Scenario 2:
I call this the "naked in the classroom" dream--ever had this one? I also have a variant on this dream where I'm naked in the grocery store.

I was amazed how many people have these same dreams, and how similar they are to what others experience.

I have a reoccuring variation of dream snenario #1. But instead of a gun, I'm trying to shoot the undead with my finger with no effect. Odd.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I have a variant of the number 1 dream all the time, but without the gun. Just in a fight or something and trying to punch someone and it having no effect. Which is probably close to what would happen in reality, I guess :)
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

The only recur that I ever have is horrible. I'm alone in the tanker, driving, and it's getting so bad I can hear and feel the trees/branches and **** scraping along the bottom of the airplane. Then I wake up, scared ****.

That is a scary dream George. Mine is usually the gun thing. The gun won't fire or it fires late. I have been naked in school a few times too.:p

I was hoping my non-firing gun wasn't some sort of sexual heads-up, ya know, being 46 and all....could be worse I guess, what if my guns fired prematurely? :D

I have recurring dreams of being in a bar and chatting up a bartender or waitress while I'm folding laundry. What does that mean?

    +1 on both dream versions.

I had a friend I was on the sheriff's reserves with who went through an entire domestic stand-off and then realized he had forgot to put the magazine in the tactical rifle and chamber a round. The training was a little lax for us volunteers :o

    Dr. Steve's analysis:

You generally are a somewhat picky person, everything has it's place--organized. Your a man of carefully planned "method," not trial-and-error. Right now your life is together, satisfying, and thankfully uneventful. You're a creature of habit, and somewhat of a loner--but not extremely so. You are secure with yourself, and place in life. This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that you are folding "clean" laundry--not airing out dirty laundry at the bar.

Did I pretty much nail it?

I suggest you try Viagra for your first "scenario" and install a floor length mirror on your front door for the other "scenario".

If it wasn't for the extensive use of thin drywall in the house, i'd try the blue pill. I wonder if my dream would change from non-working gun, to beating people to death with my ****, that would be cool.

Everytime I have that non-firing gun dream, I would go to the range and fire off a few hundred rounds. It would put the dreams to rest for quite a while.

The naked one? I have no idea, but I always enjoy them when they come... hehehe...

#1. Hell no....I custom load EVERY defense round myself on my Redding single stage press....and have shot thousands of them...all flawless. I have never even once had a failure using my multi-stage dillon press that I use for mass quantities of target/plinking ammo ( Basically .45 auto by the thousands for myself...my favorite plinker....and a lot of 9mm for friends ....some of them like that little girl round ;) )

Also, in thousands and thousands of rounds of factory ammo.....I have only had one batch of ammo that was faulty. I bought 1,000 rounds of .44 mag ammo from Midway ....IMI ( ISRAEL MILITARY INDUSTRIES ) 240gr jhp's ....after 2 squib loads ( Had to remove the bullets out of my Super Redhawks barrel by hand  ) I pulled the bullets from a box of 50.

There was NO consistency in the powder charges...it ranged up and down the scale...but that was the only time I had ever seen center fire factory ammo screwed up like that.

I also shoot every firearm enough to know it cycles flawlessly...I have gotten rid of ones that dont.

So no, I cant say I have ever experienced number 1.

#2. Gotta be a no to that one too...been naked in public before, just never woke up doing it ...or had done it involuntarily :)

Thanks for the heads-up--guess I won't be using any of that in my Bisley Hunter.

That's all me baby. I'm good with people. BTW, that's actually based on what I observe in your personality--nothing to do with the dream--but it fit well.

You strike me as a person who likes things neat and tidy, efficient; I would also guess that you don't care for fiction literature, but prefer factual, documentary, tangible type stuff. I'd further guess that though you do well in social situations, you're quite content doing things alone as well. The fact that you mention folding laundry (typically associated as a woman's chore) in a non-chalant manner would indicate that you are very secure with yourself.

That will be $9.95 paypal is fine.:D

Could you hum a few bars of that one? :D

I have the one where I'm trying to run but can't seem to go anywhere. Wait, that's real.

Then there is the one where I'm in the grocery store in just my drawers. Uh, nope, did that last weekend. Can't shop at Publix anymore either.

I always had this dream as a kid that i had to climb to the top of my swingset because alligators were eating the bottom of it. Eventually they ate so much i was no longer high in the air and the alligators ate me. :(

I occasionally have the gun dream but it's more along the lines of I can't get to the gun in time before the zombies get me.
