    Good question though.

As I've said, if it's not fun, don't do it. This hobby is supposed to be recreation....if it isn't find something that is in the interim.

Well said. And this hobby is fun. After weeks of having no HT or no Audio due to flooding, I hooked up the 2CH in the living room upstairs. It will be months before this problem is rectified and a lot of dollars later. I had to set the plasma up there and it is not a big room to begin with. So, as I explained to my wife, the room is crowded now what the hell is a little more equipment. Aw-w-w, that's better, music at last. If you don't like it, then go to another room. I am so glad I met you folks to permit me to take my listening pleasure to another level and do whatever I have to do, within reason that is, to satisfy my love for music.

I'm just trying to figure it out. Some seem to be trying to measure who has the bigger unit, why,I don't understand. There seems to be a lot of crap in the background that should be settled in the background. Live and let live. I've tried to stay out of these things but for the betterment of all lets just get over it.

I think this place absolutely sucks compared to the old forum. However, the 10 friend above the 100 s of others I've made here is what keeps me hear.

Besides just like everyone else when things are going your way you love the forum when there is BS piling up we hate.

I'll never leave. I have to many teachers and a few students.

You hate a few people? How can you hate someone over some posts on a forum?

I might dislike the way some people post here, and I have stirred the pot more than once.....but hate? If they show up at Polkfest I'll come over and drink a couple beers with them. Jesus Christ. You should cool down a bit.

As always ..... we wouldn't have any problems if there were more cat pictures.

Nah, this is a good place, a nice mix of malcontents, patriots, nincompoops, n'eer do wells, decent folks, anarchists, smart ones, dumb ones, people teaching, people learning, hot chicks(making brownie points with the ladies ... guys, take note !), philanderers, meanderers, good bodies, hard bodies, hard heads, yellow-bellys, and ..... well .... that about covers it.

Sort of the people you'd meet in church ......from what I hear.

So, if you find yourself getting a little wound up, pop in on your local "Craigslist" or "Bensbargains Forum" and have some fun !

In the meantime, relax, have some fun, and enjoy the show !

    IT'S ALL GOOD !

Sorry but my two cents here Ric is, I hated and still hate Silverti, pacificoast, bear, ka7niq, and a few others I can't recall. That being said . . . what the point is, some people can make you despise them long before you see them face to face or shake their hand which by the way any of thos metioned above, while shaking their hands I would be twisting their wrists off.

Sal, your take on things is that some people are dicks to you and that's why you dislike them. Have you considered that it could be the other way around? I've had one big disagreement on this board with a member that will remain nameless. It was settled over PM from advice by a good friend of mine. Some here (not mentioning any names ) seem to air the dirty laundry and threadjack and name call, then cry bloody murder when someone retaliates against them.

It's been said a million times: USE THE IGNORE BUTTON!

I do, however, take issue with those who have been questioning Mark's character and integrity. Some was in the heat of the moment, others not. It's honestly laughable. Take a step back and realize that blame is everywhere around here. Everyone needs to grow up, make it right and have some fun. Can't do that? Take a hike!

Ricardo, what else can one say?

Oh well, after catching up on today's threads my lifeforce has completely drained.

Why should we even have Polkfest this year? It's funny, because there are (or were) a few heavy hitters in the audio industry that lurk here - and there had even been talk of a suprise visit to one of our formal gatherings, and maybe - JUST maybe a writeup in *major* audio rag. I was looking forward to it. I guess there is always next year.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Russ is this for real? I mean I've seen heavy hitters on here two and three years ago and the fighting and langauage was what this forum seemed to be about. I can't believe that companies that come across a forum with such passion for 2 ch and HT would be skipped by because of a dispute or two. There were out and out wars for years here.

I sorta agree with my comrade here. I mean, lookit, this is an internet forum. I've met a lot of you arseholes and made a LOT of lifelong friends here. As far as enemies, I mean, c'mon, really. Sure, we've got a few crackpots and rodents..but, honestly, in the grand scheme..the entertainment value is there. As for serious vendettas? Step back and take a breath. There isn't anyone that I would seriously wish ill on. If it's THAT serious, take a look at what you are doing here.

I'm actually looking to do a "Tonya Harding Knee Wacking" on someone at Polkfest. I won't say who, but when they least expect it....BAM!! I'll jump out from the bushes and bust their knee with a Bose Wave Radio.
    No excuses!

Joe, you and I have resolved our differences and hopefully given each other a different perspective. That's long forgotten and I appreciate you dealing with me from then to now and hopefully in the future. Those comments weren't directly aimed at you, I assure you.

It sounds like you've taken a step breath, caught your breath and have some clarity about all of this. Let's all let bygones be bygones and go back to having some fun and shooting the breeze. All the name calling, innuendos, conspiracy theories is a real buzzkill and I have to get back to work tomorrow ;). Just give me a couple more hours until the daily grind has to start again.

Well, call it Polkfest or something else, and even if the doors of the headquarters do not open for us that day, I already have a hotel room and vacation time booked, so I still plan to be there to meet other polkies, drink some beers (and yes, some Beam too..), hear some tunes and talk lots of B.S. ;)

Why cancel the shindig for a few rotten apples. If they are truly rotten they won't bother showing up. Russ, if the talk is real about canceling the gig then please do it soon before those of us who are making plans have a monetary loss.

I'm hoping the "threat" was food for thought and not a real event that will happen.
