Computer Geeks, Help! PS3 Interconnect Connection?

I am trying to set up my PS3 and it is not getting a connection with a USB to my Macbook. It keeps saying to check settings on my network but it looks ok to me. Ethernet is checked. :confused:

Damn Typo. Of course I meant Internet connection in the title.
