Rear Speaker placement

Hello All,

All of my gear has finally arrived and I've got it all set up finally! Woohoo, so excited! I have a question regarding my rear speaker placement. Right now they are angled towards the center seating position. Should I have them pointing in this direction, or should I angle them towards the TV more? Below are pictures of the room. I've included some pics of all of the gear if anyone is interested. Yeah I know, I need to hide those cables better in the cabinet! Soon, soon........I'm tired after setting all this up! But seriously, from the seating position and lighting in the room you really dont see any of it, unless you are down there looking. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Current setup:

Onkyo TX-SR705
PS3
Comcast HD DVR
Polk Monitor 70's
Polk Monitor 30's
Polk CS1
Velodyne DLS3500R
Logitech Haromny 1000
Self done cabinet cooling system with temperature sensors.

Nice setup, Spencer. You're really going to enjoy it!

I think you can easily experiment with those rear speakers and try pointing them in each of the directions you mentioned. See what sounds best to you.
McIntosh MA252 Integrated Amp, LUMIN D2 Network Music Player, Yamaha Aventage RX-A840 receiver, Emotiva XPA Gen3 2 channel amp, Polk LSiM 703 speakers. Oppo UDP-203 Blu-Ray player, Polk LSiM 705 speakers. Polk Signature S20 speakers.

Nice looking system and room. I would suggest facing them directly toward the front of the room and somewhat inline with the fronts. It looks like you cannot mount them to the sides of were you sit so behind you facing forward would be my next best option. The way you have them now looks good but may be a bit to directional for the surrounds. Hey, if you like the sound and it works leave em! Again, nice system and room. good luck.

Thanks, I will try out the different rear speaker placement and let you know how it goes. It also looks like images are having difficulty loading. Guess I need to figure that out too........ha!

I love the look Spencer, My experience is you get better sound from the back speakers when facing towards the middle of the room. All the speakers should equally hit the center of the room the same db. Really nice set up, hope you enjoy them.
