Pulse Jack / internet K5 plugin

Ok,
so the wife's internet crashed last night. I think I've narrowed it down to the "Pulse jack" place you plug in the internet cable to. I know it's not our ISP because I can log in just fine on my computer, unhooked my cable and it won't work on hers. So, I think it must either be something with the motherboard, or her Pulse Jack.
Anybody know if you can just replace these little fella's? Or is it not removable from the motherboard?
Any help here would be appreciated. Wasn't planning on replacing the computer quite yet, but... could be a good excuse. Or just a cheap fix.
Thanks!

There's a cable running to the motherboard, so you should be able to replace it...
Although that was a Windows 97 era PC... -
The network interface card? usually it's integrated but you can buy ones that go into PCI slots.

Ya, no cable on this board. It's just planted firmly onto the MOBO.Honoured to be, an original SOPA founding member

they all do. They are super cheap, you could probably even find one cheaper than that. Takes 2 minutes to install it, don't let them talk you into paying for installation.
If you need help/questions just PM me. I change a couple every week so I'm decent at them. -

Or, you could drag those knuckles into the 21 century and go wireless:)
Not much use for wireless on a desktop, especially if the cable is already there. -
Well, it's not the card or the cable... so it must be software. Arg.
Put a new card in tonight, and nothing. Still says limited or no connectivity.
Hmmm... anybody know anything about software that could be the issue? She is running IE, and the only thing that changed this past week was I tried to set up a new network between our two computers (It wasn't successful mind you) but my internet still works great, and now her's doesn't.
I'm stumped.Honoured to be, an original SOPA founding member

If it's a configuration issue, try the system restore feature to unregister your changes. If that doesn't do it, you could give remote assistance to someone here.-Ignorance is strength -

system restore took care of it.
oh well, I got an extra card out of the deal for 25 bucks, and a chance to have the wife surf her **** on my computer for the past few days until I fixed hers....
