Metal Gear Online (amazing!)

Metal Gear Online Beta just went up. The game is fantastic. Feels very realistic... players can take a lot of hits before going down if you don't shoot them in the head, but the realism of that given bullet proof vests can be debated. Anyway, you can only run at about 7mph (light jog), you can't shoot while running, and it takes about 2 seconds to enter aiming mode (you can level this stat up to make your aim faster). This means you CAN'T go run into an enemy base and expect to kill a thing. The slow, very positional pace is really amazing. It I were to compare it to anything it would be a mix of the online multiplayer of GRAW + Counterstrike with stat leveling.. but much more slow paced, which is a breath of fresh these days. I love it.

I saw you logged on the ps network the other day, and it looked like you were jamming the MG beta, so I was of course jealous Man, that sounds outstanding. I'm with you on the slow pace. I enjoy my twitchy shooters, but I LOVED GRAW bc you had to take your time and creep for the right shot. I assume this is a must buy when it comes out? I would expect so, but would like to hear your beta perspective.

Okay so how do you get ahold of the beta? Is it a download, or a disk?

If it is a downlaod how big is the file?

Pre-order disc from Metal Gear Solid 4. There were only limited copies of the disc, so might be too late now. Some people got download codes from the Konami website. There might be some left. Beta goes about 10 more days.

The game is an absolute waste of space and I really want to ask Kojima what the hell he was thinking. This game will be an afterthought in the online community.
