Just wondering if anybody else has been fishing this year.

The weather has been fantastic here the last 3-4 days. We have about a 3 acre pond behind our house so its pretty convenient. The guy that owns it has been stocking it with big bass for years. Any where from 3 to 8 pounders.

After three days of fishing I finally hooked a decent one.

3lb 15oz

Too much ice, but it's not safe. A little wait yet for me.

I haven't fished in AZ yet, but my Dad accidentally found my fishing poles back in GA, so I'll finally be in business again.

Went out sunday to a local pond. I pulled out 7. Each around 2 pounds. Once in a while you will see 5 to 10 pounders in the pond and huge carp.

    He Michael:
Where is your little honey hole with the 10 pounders???? You mean 10 pounder large mouths right? The largest I caught in my area (Lower Bucks County) is a six pounder. I know there a lot of bass ponds in South Jersey but I'm not buying an out-of-state fishing license.

Just got back from the Caribbean. Caught a 40" mahi mahi last week. Then I got too seasick to be bothered to take a picture...

    Haven't been fishing yet, but

Yep, time to load up the reels with SPIDERWIRE, the line that God fishes with.

We'll probably go fishing up at Mark Twain Lake in a couple of weeks with the ex-FIL and tear up the crappie.
Have a nice fish fry the following week, with Vadalia onions and slightly sweetened, chilled stewed tomatoes.

Gawd, I love fishing and, luckily, my sons do, too.

My grandson got his first fishing pole; I haven't seen it yet, but I imagine they bought him some sort of Snoopy rig.
He has his mom call up my sons, so that he can tell them about his pole:

"Uncle Mikey ..... we go fishing ?"

(he remembers Uncle Mikey catching sunfish, and letting him reel them in last summer at Table Rock)

    :D:D:D:D

Yep, if you hang it there long enough, life is GOOD !

Ack, speaking of loading up the reals with line I need to do my deep sea reels over. Those are never cheap to redo. I think this year I'm going to go for something in the 60-70 pound test range....I think it's gonna be a good deep sea year.

I find pond fishing too boring....nothing beats reeling up what feels like a truck tire from 400 feet down....especially when you can see it like 30 feet down in the water and you know it's a big one. :D

38 pound cod has been my record, I'm hoping to break it. Felt like I was reeling in an F-350 from the depths of the ocean.

Heading to the mountains tomorrow bright and early for a little trout fishin in one of the designated harvest rivers. Season opens for catch and keep Wed., so it's my last chance to catch a mess of big uns before the cornchuckers clean 'em out. 16-18" brookies and 20+ browns are a blast on my mid flex 5 wt.

A small lake just south of West Chester,Pa.
It sits on a private school grounds. The lake area is closed but, as long as no body gose in the water they don't bother hickers, fishing, or people just enjoying the wooded area.
