Out door Polks as Surrounds!

I've run into all kinds of difficulties and way too much compromise in sound quality trying to do ceiling speakers to match my Rti8's. I've read some people using out door speakers for surround. Could someone comment on the timbre match and which ones to consider? Thanks!
