Did they come with screws? Usually the speakers will have thread inserts in the back, you sit the speaker on the stand and thread the screw through the hole and into the back of the speaker. At least thats how they generally work.

Looks like you take the two screws and mount the speaker to the stand that way. Provided that the speaker already has the female threads installed already, that is....

Do the HSU speakers have some type of screw mounting system that you can use to screw them to these stands?

If not, there's always the handyman's secret weapon .......... duct tape!

Unless there's a threaded insert on the bottom of the speaker, you may be able to use the key slot on the back of the speaker and put a bolt through the front of the stand. Otherwise, you may have to bastardize the speakers.

Looks like an appropriate sized round head machine screw, with two nuts that you can tighten on the speaker stand to hold the machine screw firm. Then just hang the HSU speaker on the machine screw, the same as if it were screwed into the wall.

    One nut inside the speaker?

Thanks. They sound pretty impressive for little guys too. I set up my parents HT with a Ventriloquist system and I remember wondering why it was again that I spent SOoooo much more money on mine.:D

I know this thread is a few months old now, but I faced the same issue with my HSU satellite speakers.

For my front speakers, I found a pair of used Bose speaker stands (UFS-20) that worked great. They are very sleek and just the right height for my room (the height was not adjustable, but worked nicely for me). The speakers include a threaded insert on the back which the Bose stand attaches to using a screw that I supplied.

I found the correct machine screws by taking the speaker to a hardware store where they easily found the right size screw for me.

One slight hitch was that the hole on the bracket on the Bose stand (through which the screw goes when mounting the speaker on the stand) was too small. I guess Bose speakers must use a smaller threaded insert. With a small needle file (a drill would work too), I was able to enlarge the hole in the speaker stand bracket so that it would work with the HSU speaker.
