Hadn't seen this dude down at the shop in a long time, like almost two years. I wasn't at the shop yesterday but apparently he showed up. Found out where he had been. He was in jail. For drug trafficking.

He was apparently driving cars from this port down in Philly and he was getting paid to drive cars to other places like Harrisburg, Dover, Albany, Trenton and so on and so forth. All his gas was paid for and he got good money to do it. Plus, when he got to his destination, there was either a car waiting for him to drive back or a bus ticket.

He didn't know what was happening. He needed money for school and these were high end, foreign cars so he thought they were for some rich dude who was importing cars.

Well, he got snagged in New York because the car he was driving had intermittent brake lights. Apparently a state trooper was following him and running the tags. He got off at his exit and started to come to a stop. Well, the trooper must have been looking at a computer screen or camera or something and plowed in to him. Gets out to see if he's ok and notices white power coming out of the bottom of the trunk, like an hour glass. The trunk had a false floor with several hundred thousand in cocaine in it.

Well, he got arrested and sent to jail for 3 years for being an accessory. Got out on some 75% rule NY has for those with good behavior and stuff he said.

Sucks to be him. Apparently he put in a plea deal and squealed on the guy he was working for to keep his but out of federal prison. So I guess it's not so funny but I laughed when I heard about the accident and how he got caught.

Before anyone goes jumping on me about NY law, I am only going on what he told me. He's obviously not the sharpest pencil in the box so he very well could have screwed something up. It was an odd story that I'm just sharing.

Oh yeah, and he got booted out of school too.

this falls under the "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" category in my eyes.

one must ask "why are they asking me to drive these cars to various destinations?" It would have been one thing if your were driving them to someone's house after a car gets work done, but as you said "not the sharpest pencil in the box" fits about right.

reminds me of a friend of mine that had some "friends" that were willing to give him thousands in cash at a clip to deposit in his checking account, then wanted to give them a check back (for like 50 or 100 less at a clip). My friend thought this was awesome, until I slapped him in the back of the head.

your MONEY LAUNDERING ya freak show! I actually argued with his wife for an hour as to how I was being paranoid, and that her hubby should take advantage of this for all its worth. Luckily, my friend knew I was usually right in such things and wound up not doing it. the wife hated me for a while after that..LOL

I'm constantly surprised just how dumb some people can be.. as they say.. if it's to good to be true, it probably is. but some people still can't help themselves some times.
