Which amp would be the best choice to power a 4ohm passive sub?

PSW450 Plate Amp
High current power amplifier
Power Output 150 watts Continuous Average Output
Dynamic Power Output 300 watts

Audiosource amp one:
Specifications: *Power output: 80 watts per channel @ 8 ohms, 100 watts per channel @ 4 ohms, 200 watts bridged mono @ 8 ohms *Total harmonic distortion: <0.04% *Frequency response: 20-20,000 Hz *Signal to noise ratio: 110 dB
Large torrodial power supply
80 watts per channel
200 watts bridged mono
2 ohm stable

Thanks,

    Plate.

The Amp One is stable bridged to 4 ohms, but it's more geared to SQ and the wiring will be an eyesore. Slap a plate in there and be done.

I believe I checked with Polk several years ago about using the PSW450 plate amp for a DIY project and they advised against it because of the EQ built into the amp.

I wouldn't run the Amp One bridged into a 4 ohm load...I also wouldn't use the Polk amp. Rythmik makes several nice plate amps with variable rumble filter settings. I'd recommend the 350w amp. I used it on a DIY project and enjoyed the heck out of it.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

Sounds like the vote is for neither:).

I own both amps and for the time being I need to power up a passive SVS with one or the other. I guess I could let my ears be the judge.

I'm hoping someone can come in and lay a lot of technical jargon on the matter and make me see the light on which would be the best choice for now.;)

Thanks for the replies so far.

Im here to brag on either of the plates from parts express the Bash 500 is nicely priced and the Hpsa 1000 is too. The Bash amplifier stunned me at how it rocked two 8ohm 12s of mine. for 249.00. The 1000 is impressive but it has a slight buzz at very low volume which I took care of. But the bash didnt have this!

Going with the Polk plate amp for now appears I have an amp 100 instead of the amp one.
Yeah I missed those two zeros somehow:o.

Apologies for cluttering up the forum.

technical jargon and what your ears like is diff things , some specs like dampening factor and headroom make a sound differance , better signal to noise % will get a cleaner sound .
But you need better speakers and a trained ear to know the differance .
A lot of people think louder is better .
You are aware a plate amp has a crossover and most externall amps dont ?

Have you looked at the date of the last post?
