Hey, how's it going? Ok, so I'm looking to get two of the sr124's. I was wondering about wiring configurations. Should i get the single voice coil model if I want to run a single monoblock amplifier?? what are the downsides to running a single verses the DVC model?? The amp i am going to buy is the kicker 08zx1500.1. I've had a few kicker amps and have liked them all. I think they should addequately power the subs, i just want to make sure i am configured correctly for optimum performance. any feedback is appreciated. Thanx guys!

I'm not sure of all of the SR lineup's ohm load configurations, but you want a pair of single 4 ohm, or dual 2 ohm subs for that amp. One is not better than the other.

The SR subs (actually, all of our car subs) are either single 4 ohm or dual 4 ohm voice coils. If your amp works best at a 2 ohm bridged load, then two 4 ohm SVC woofers would be best. If you want a 1 ohm or 4 ohm impedance with both woofers you'll need DVC's.

Using that specific Kicker amp, I think 2 SVC wired in parallel for a 2 ohm load would be the best option. That'll provide 750 watts to each woofer.
If that amp can get down to a 1 ohm load (I don't think it can), then I'd get DVC subs. You can also get 2 smaller amps and wire each sub to its own amp, but you'll still have to make a choice between svc and dvc depending on the amps' power rating. -
aight thanx guys. im now between going with the polk 1200.1 and running it at 1 ohm, or going with 2 svc to get 2 ohm for my kicker. if i run at 1 ohm with the polk amp, do you think ill need cooling fans?

I think using the Polk 1200.1 @ 1 ohm would be perfect for 2 SR DVC subs.

if i could i would trade my DVC for SVC .. 2 sub config is cheaper to power with SVC 2 svc = 2 ohm.. unless, u use JL audio wich doesn't change power based on impedance
