My two year quest to be an LSi9 owner has come to a conclusion. Spotted a mint cherry pair on Craigslist w/both inner and outer boxes yesterday. After promising to knock several pages of honey-do list down to one page my better half relented.:D

Still working on the exact placement, but that make take a week or two. of course, then I'll have to write down the measurements for when I'm reviewing other speakers.

    Nice.
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

    Very nice indeed.

Are you powering them with the Onix?

If so hows it doing with the 9's?

I have been think of trying to power a Lsi series speaker with my little Joilda.
I know it probably won't do the job but I am wondering if it woulod hold me over until I venture to something more powerful.

    Nikolas:
Tomorrow, I'll hook them up to the Onix SP3 tube amp. Today I've been running them with the modded PS Audio Trio C-100. I expect the Onix to have no problems as they have powered more difficult speakers. It should be a very sweet combo, as was the LSi7's when I reviewed them over a year ago.

    Mike:
yea, that's another speaker (semi vintage) that I have on hand for a review. Could be a solid comparison piece to the 9's.

    Audio:
The mods were done thru Underwood Hifi, designed by the original architect of the Trio C-100.

    Bagged:
The turntable is in my family room rig as neither integrated has a phono stage, plus their is no more room on the table.

    Zero:
I'm up to my ears in speakers right now, something's gotta give, especially if the wife ever does a count!

    Danger:
Most likely an August review, I'm very backed up right now with products.

    OK. Its tomorrow.:D

Hook the Onix up and report back. I am dieing to hear the results. It is going to help me decide which speakers to get. Lsi7's or Lsi9's. If the Onix struggles I will go with the 7's and if it sounds sweet I will go with the 9's.:)

Morning Report LSi9's & Onix Sp3 int. tube amp:
The 9's love the tube amp, very liquid presentation. Been listening to Wm Ackerman acoustic guitar very lush without being mushy at about 74db (it's still early here on the west coast). I did crank it up while the wife was in the shower. It absolutely proves a point I pound on from time to time. The LSi9's need quality power over quantity, period. Bass is tight, full, detailed, and robust.
So, Nikolas, IMHO don't sell your Jolida amp, and try the 9's with them. I very much doubt you'll be anything less than enthusiastic.
