Rickie Lee Jones - The Sermon On Exposition Boulevard

I have to say this might be the worst excuse for music that I've ever had the displeasure of hearing. I couldn't get thru the first song as I developed a headache from what I can only describe as a voice that sounds more like a sick, dying cow. The fact that it was released on SACD completely baffles me.

The only upside is that it came in a **** Bag, so I can return it for a full refund.

Thanks for the warning. Her voice always bothered me some. I've never been a big fan, but some of her stuff is okay. I just don't go nuts for it. This review saved me from making a bad buy!

What's a **** bag? Not that I'm offended, I just never heard of that before and I was curious if it was similar to SASE.

It's a clear plastic re-sealable bag made expressly for holding CD cases. I'm not 100% sure, but I presume it originated in Japan, hence the name. You can find them online or at a good music store.

If I said what I really think, I wouldn't be here much longer.

If there is any way you can sample it, I would try that before buying it. I wish I would have.

Its not the sort of common thing I generally enjoy, definetly a concept album, the liner notes go into the details, however, there is a certain artistry to the disc, its way out there thats for sure, most likely time to listen for me is Sunday afternoon, not ready for Rock and not wanting Classical. I listen to it when I just have to hear something different than three chord crunchers, or rondo turnaround tunes, there are parts of this disc I enjoy.

Not so sure about SACD for this one though.
