$800 beans! I like the ones I make just fine. One day I would love to try some nice MIT's, or AQ's with DBS, but for now I will stick to my silvers.

Are they oil (fluid) filled? I've spent some time with Purist Audio, which in some circles is the be all, end all.

    Cheers,

Russ, I'm not clear on that, I need to look into it further. I know the Duelund caps are highly thought of and use all natural materials in construction like these cables do. I've wanted to try the caps, but have a hard time swallowing the price. The prices for the cables don't seem so bad, actually cheaper than the MIT S1 Shotgun's.

When researching IC's I have seen that air is the best dielectric, but bare wires are a no no. A lot of guys like to use cotton over the bare wires. I am not sure what dielectric characteristics different oils have.

    Link to their site, http://www.duelundaudio.com

"Years of trial and error have resulted in cables that are made from pure silver using silk and various oils for isolation. So far this has proved to be sonically superior to all other configurations available."

It would appear that they are oil filled.

I like the idea. Those cables that are filled with sand are kinda neat also.

I wonder how often you have to change the oil? I bet if you play death metal you have to change the oil more often than if you play classical :p

Seriously, I'd love to see how those are constructed. I can't imagine them being immersed in oil as isolation. I wonder if they are oil covered (as in a nice light film) not enough to drip if punctured but enough to completely cover the internal wires with a very light film.

Perhaps the outer sheathing has a thin film of oil as it's applied. Also sounds like maybe the silk insulator might be oil treated.

Surprised no one has made the snake oil joke yet....

Anyhow, I'm a little skeptical about the two wires they have for the IC's, but let us know what you think.

    Thanks much.
It reinforces my idea to produce cotton/air over silver for IC's.

The soap powders look real good too. I'm thinking a nice clean sound:D
