Anyone buy car audio stuff online?
I found a site www.onlinecarstereo.com has anyone used them? By far the best prices around...but sometimes things are just to good to be true.
So if you have shopped there or anywhere else for that matter let me know whats good and what places to stay away from.

If you want great service, selection, and security check out Sounddomain.com or Crutchfield.com. If you want the lowest prices, check out E-Bay. I purchase my entire $2,000+ system from these three sources and only had a problem with a wiring harness lost in the mail.
p.s. : Retail would have been over $3,000 for everything. Happy system shopping! -
ya dude, i got like 6,500 dollars worth of audio off of ebay for like 3 grand... its well worth it if u know what your buying (and always buy new in original box SEALED) -- you dont want to go buying someone else's problems. The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge

ive bought my 1 farad capacitor from ikesound.com
an escort radar detector from sounddomain.com
my polk 465 component system from carstereotime.com
my rf power 500.2 from onlinecarstereo.com
and my 2 mm120s from crutchfield.com
ive never had any problems from any of these websites
those are the websites with the lowest priced items i could find except for crutchfield
crutchfield has the best service around and probably the biggest selection but other websites have better prices
all these items have full warranty and are just like you bought them from the factory

I've bought two SubZone boxes from them very cheap. Excellent boxes. They carry a ton of brands and are authorized internet dealers for a lot of them."The Big C" -
I have bought my stuff online too. I do my shopping at Crutchfield and then buy someplece much more cheaper. However, Crutchfield is the only place I have been able to find Polk products in stock so I buy from them for that stuff.
I mainly use CarStereoTime.com and CarMedia1.com because they carry some of my favorite stuff and they do it cheaply.
I have about 3200 dollars worth of stereo equipment in my truck and I paid less than 1800 for it because I shopped at these sites.
An example. I bought a HiFonics Zeus 700 amplifier for my girlfriend's car at CarStereoTime.com for $306. A Local chain retailed that same amplifier for $674.99 which is more than double the price. They ship fast and shipping isn't too bad. But the price cuts you get more than make up for it. Also, many states enjoy tax free shopping. In some places that doesn't matter but in NJ, with 6% sales tax, that would be about 40 dollars in sales tax on a 675 dollar amplifier. Defintly worth considering for me even if I was paying retail prices and not wholesale prices.
Oh and contrary to popular beliefs, the stuff they sell is legit and not "hot". Most are importers and selling directly from thier warehouses and alot of them work together and share stock. They sell at wholesale because they aren't wholesalers or retailers, they are first line distributers so they sell at wholesale prices and you pay for all the shipping costs. They still make money and it translates to a 30-50% price cut for you.
It can hurt the little guy but I'm so used to going into local stores and having a "punk" kid with an attitude and a brand bigotry problem trying to sell me something he knows nothing about. Until I find a good shop with knowledgable people willing to work with me for what I want and not what they want to sell me, I have no problem getting my equipment from a no face/no name online store.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

If you don't make purchases at Crutchfield, how do you expect them to remain in business? Someone has to pay for their outstanding customer support and their really great people. If you don't support them, they won't be there to support you.--
