to HD-DVD backing out. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad there is only one HD format now but it seems alot of studios like Paramount, Universal, etc. that released only on HD-DVD sure as hell are taking their time releasing "new" movies on Blu-Ray. I'd love to have Sweeney Todd released in an HD format or movies alike. Just my .02

I'm sure it's not exactly trivial to switch your operation over from HD-DVD to BluRay, there's a lot of time and cost associated. For how many people actually buy them (I'm guessing it's still not that many) I wouldn't expect them to rush...If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Nope, not upset at all. Sold off all my HD-DVDs and player and now it's only Blu. I'm sure those HD-DVD exclusive titles will be out on Blu soon enough. We're getting Batman Begins very soon and I cannot wait to get Transformers.
PS: Please, in the future, put the full topic of your post in the thread title.If...
Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
Ron loves a film = don't even rent. -

Well, not quite upset but disappointed.
Many moons ago, my wife originally asked if we could afford one of the HD format and naturally I said hell yes. So I go out in search of HD using my method of looking at the consumables (inkjet cartridges, laserjet toners, you get the idea) and BR had more movies we liked when we took a look on Amazon (this is pre-Warner HD-DVD deal). PS3 had the best price on a BR player plus I could use it for a game console in case they lost.
Later, we picked up one of the $99 Walmart HDDVD players and we much prefer the navigation on HDDVD and I liked the default DTS. I rooted for HD-DVD and like my Dallas Cowboys they lost.
So now, we're trying to pickup any HD-DVD sale on movies we like but don't own that would look good in HD while they're cheap since we noticed the BR specials disappeared at the local stores after they won.
In the end, if Sony continues with $35 releases of movies people want like "I Am Legend" and that $35 price tag gets splashed on the Circuit City ad, they'll go down in flames too (i.e. Cable/Satellite/Mail Order) as most consumers will stick with their "good enuff" DVD players.
All of you 65" or bigger 1080p owners are not "most consumers" so don't flame me about how crappy DVD looks at that size. I know it does. -

Bob, I am with you on this one, folks at the office come to me and ask if its true that those "high defintion Sony discs are no longer being made" the format war hurt this market like the one in high rez music, unless each disc is released as a hybrid blu ray may wind up in the closet at Sony with the SACD's.
