Bi-Wiring SDA 2Bs

I'm about ready to pull the crossovers from my SDA 2Bs for the 4.1TL polypropylene film cap up-grade and I am tempted to lead the tweeter outputs to separate posts so that I can bi-wire them. Has anyone done this yet (I searched the forum -honest);)? How did it sound?

Buy one set of nice wires. One nice set is better than 2 decent sets.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. IMO, one set of nice wires with nice termination and a pair of nice binding posts is the way to go, and cheaper to boot. Unless you plan on bi-amping, I wouldn't bother.

Ok, now lets see if I got this down right. Is nice better than decent or is it gonna be the other way around? :D

Seriously, I appreciate the input. There has been a lot written about how the bass signal ruins the wire for the high pass signal, and frankly it's a lot to swallow with out hearing it first hand.

Biwiring isn't going to solve that. You'd have to go active and biamped to cure that.

I can see how that would produce a benefit, but I think it would be a low bang for the buck at this level.

I do think it would be interesting to try using the 100 watt outputs on my Yamaha Receiver to drive the tweeters and the Rotel 200W to drive the low pass. My guess is that it would be a wash. I'll put that on my list of to-dos, right after that 2-stroke Evenrude blender project.

Most Yami's are pretty bright. I would definetly drive them with the Rotel. There are some nice speaker wires here in the FM. I am partial to the AQ line of speaker wire, and I also build star quad silvers for Polkies on the cheap.

I'm going to swap for some Kimba Kable 4PR wire here soon and give that a listen. I like AQ too, I use them for interconnects. I have some Tributaries A3s I will get around to listening to soon. I'll check out your star quad silvers too. I saw your web address.

BTW, heating up the soldering station. Getting started on the 2B cap, resistor and RD0198 mod.

My Tannoys were internally wired with 4PR, I would say they're on the warm side, practically dull.

Do one thing at a time.

The RDO198 upgrades are priceless demeigs; and using Kimbers internally isn't going to hurt either. Good luck with the project.

I wouldn't bother making them capable of bi-wiring.
