how to get a 12 volt trigger

I have a H/K avr 745 and im looking at a furman power conditioner that has a 12 volt turn on for the switched out puts. The thing is that my H/K only has a 5 volt max. I also have a monster power center that has a ac trigger that plugs into the switched port on your avr so if that is help full.

I don't understand the H/K having only 5v output? What is this marked as? Other then that if nothing else you could add a wall power pack from a switched outlet for this 12vdc trigger.

I just plugged my Denon into the source and my 2 amps into the other plugs.

A 12 volt trigger might not necessarily be a 12 volt trigger. Sometimes, they're actually 5-30 volt solid state triggers(AC and DC).

I couldn't find any info on the Furman triggers(if they have them). Your best bet is going to be asking the manufacturer of the power conditioner if a 5 volt trigger will work.

p.s. I looked at the HK manual. Trigger 1 is a 6 volt supply(decent current). Trigger 2 appears to be a digital 5 volt signal(very low current).

Ya sorry about that it is 6 but i have called and talked to furman and there tech had said he had tested them with an 8 volt battery but that is as low of volts he had tried. And engtaz i have used that type of product before but my stereo is some times turned off using the sleep timer and i am already asleep so i wouldn't want my amps to stay on all night so that is the resign im trying to get the trigger to work.

The 6v trigger should work. The outlaws had a 12v trigger that I triggered the a 6v trigger.

That Sears thing look exactly like what I need engtaz. Does it work pretty well? I can't get the triggers on my Lexicon and Outlaw to play nice together...

Yes it works. I was surprised, I had my doubts but it works like a charm.

I just picked up the Craftsman Power Switch as advised by engtaz and it is sweet. Thanks for the tip man. The only thing is it requires a decent amount of current to turn it on; so I need to play around with which of my components can switch it on. (The ironic thing is that what I'm trying to switch is my highest current component)

Update:
The things works better than I had originally hoped. Plugging my power center into it doesn't draw enough current to flip the power, but when I turn on the components plugged into the power center, that does turn it on! I couldn't have imagined anything better...
