Hmmm....I am not sure. I wonder if Funai will be handling Philips/Magnavox warranty issues for TVs sold before the "handover". -
Ya, I got it through Costco so they extend the factory warranty to two years.

I think they have to honor them. It would be different if Phillips went out of business. This was a buyout.

I think/hope you're right. From the article is sounded like they were happy to be associated with Philips and their reputation. Plus, Costco hangs people out to dry a lot less than other companies, so I have faith in them.
BTW, it's a cool TV. It has 120Hz refresh rate, improved LED ambilights (which are quiet an experience if you've never seen them), 1080p of course, and all for $1600 in a limited number offer; I think they received about 6 per store. I was VERY happy with the find.
