Spring cleaning time guys, I have in near mint condition a bridgeable multi-channel Harman Kardon PA 2000 amplifier. Its output is 100wpc x2 or 45wpc x4. For those of you curious about bi-amping with fairly efficient speakers (Polk RTi series monitors), this is a simple way to accomplish the task. There are a total of 3 very small scratches, one on each top front corner and a third near the bottom front right (1/4 of an inch). I’ve attached several pics, plus an image of the specs.

This amp has the typical slightly warm HK sound and with 45amps can deliver a good punch.

Additional features include:
Features
-Bridgeable Multichannel Amplifier powers one or two stereo pairs
-High-current, ultrawide-bandwidth design
-Parallel line-level-out connections permit amplifiers to be cascaded for system use
-Music Sense circuitry and low-voltage trigger connection for automatic turn-on
-Five-way binding post terminals accommodate large-gauge speaker cable
-Massive heatsinks for quiet, fan-free convection cooling
-Output level trim controls
-Removable IEC power cord
-Specially optimized circuitry is compatible with long speaker wire runs that may be necessary in a whole house multiroom system

To figure your shipping cost calculate 30lbs and box size of 20 x20 x10 from zip 97223. For reference, shipping to Madison Square Garden in NYC is $42.

I prefer PayPal, but will take a Money Order

I have this amp. I power my multiroom switch with it, at times driving up to 5 pairs of speakers. This is a nice amp for a nice price, good luck with your sale.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Can this handle LSi speakers? Is it common ground? I may be interested if it does.

It's 2 channel in bridged mode so I'd be cautious about driving 4ohm speakers with it, unless you're planning to go with 7's. That being said I drive DQ-10's with mine, although not at high volumes, and the 10's dip much lower than LSi's do.

    Mark, that's a great price!

    Maximillion:
Thankfully, it uses a detacheable 3-way plug.

I've never had the pleasure of hearing this HK with LSi's, it should handle the LSi7, 9's, without problem. I ran them with the very inefficient Mark & Daniel monitors that are 82db and require a minimum of 60wpc. The amp didn't even blink powering them.

Currently have two sets of fronts (RTi6's and R50's) and my stereo receiver runs them fine. Would like to move the receiver somewhere else and power the fronts with the AVR preouts and an amp. This would work nicely with them (I think). But someday I may want to tryout the LSi9's. If I do I want to make sure this can handle them. It appears that there may be an issue with the 9's. If that's the case then I don't want it.

    Maximillion:
How long before you think you'll be moving up? It all comes down to how soon and how loud you'll play the 9's. If you're above 90db constantly, then you better look at Bryston's, as not many amps will handle that sustained level.

For what you have now, the PA2000 will be a terrific match. You could even move up from the r50's into RTi8's.

I applaud you for looking long term and asking "what if". Maybe some other members can chime in.

I may upgrade next month, next year, or never. Point is I want a system that is flexible enough since I have limited funds. Again, driving my 50's and 6's in tandem is already being done by my receiver and it sounds good. So there is no real need to upgrade. However, if I can free the receiver up and use a dedicated amp, then there may be some benefit to buying this now. Again, I want to make sure it's also flexible for any future upgrades as well.

Those Mark & Daniel monitors are tough on amps, and they didn't phase the HK playing classical music in the mid 80db range. It's my firm belief that it would do just fine with one pair of LSi's. Now, if you decide to drive multiple sets of LSi's then I'd look for a very serious/expensive amp.

Just keep in mind that their are strong rumblings of an LSi update, what that entails who knows, but it wouldn't surprise me if the update doesn't involve making them easier to drive in order to work better with class D "ICE" amps.

At this price you could turn around and resell. Another just like this just sold here for much more. Another no-brainer.

I agree, not much you could lose on this. Later on you could use it for multiroom duty as it can drive 2 pairs.

As for the common ground question, when my NAD 2200 amp was being repaired/modded I drove my SDA 2B's with this amp, but in non-bridged mode. So it's got to be common ground non-bridged at least. It actually sounded pretty good driving the SDA's. Not as good as my NAD, of course, but we're talking two different price points here.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
