Question on subwoofer hookup

Hi,
I just bought a new amp and set of speakers, and am running into a problem setting them up.
My powered sub has RCA jacks labeled Left and Right, but my Amp just has the one RCA jack for Subwoofer out. My Amp has 2 subwoofer outs, but intended for two different subwoofers (7.2).
I've seen people mention Y connectors, and other people say that's not good.
What would be the right way to hook my Sub up?
My Amp is a Yamaha RX-V663, and my speakers are Polk Audio RM6880
Thanks!

I'm not an expert however, a Y- cable will work fine or just hook up a single rca to the left input.Big thanks to "Neskahi" !

A Y-cable isn't necessary. Just use one of the RCA jacks on your sub and run a cable to the Sub Out on your Yamaha.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Thanks folks. I'll just connect a single RCA cable from my Amp's "Sub Out" to the left channel on my sub leaving the right channel of the sub unused.
Thanks for your help! -
Hi,
I have the same satellite speaker system and I am using a Y cable and it works fine. You can also use a single RCA. If you use a Y cable all you can get is a 3db gain in the sub woofer volume. So if you are using a single RCA increase your sub volume by 3 decibels with the help of your receiver.hope it helps.

I was told that you get stereo out of the Y cable when plugged into the sub. I have the Y connection wire ($40.00). I do not notice a difference in them from a normal rca plug. Little different on the phasing, but I do not notice if its a bad or good thing. lol
