I am debating on these for the front doors of a 1998 Dodge Ram but wanted to get some opions since I have never bought much aftermarket 6x9's other than a set of the Infinity Kappa's 693i's back 10 years ago and from I remember they sounded preety good but they were back deck speakers.

How is the Midbass from 6X9's compared to a decent set of Components say the 6.5 MoMo's? I will be powering with a PDX4.150 Amps.

Thanks to All!!!

The MMC690's are the best coaxial speaker on the market IMO. I ran a set in my 02 Ram for a couple years and loved them. I bi-amped them running thru the crossover to the tweeter and then full range to the mid. Awesome speaker.

They will fit but you will have to exercise a little elbow grease. The basket on these things is the size of a football and you have to do some cutting to get them into the standard size cutout in the door. Youll also have to use a spacer but trust me, its worth it.

Not worried about the tough install just want to have a good balance with the subs. I had thought about a set of the K2P's just for something different but how would the Midbass compare on the MoMo 6x9's to the K2P's on these doors?
I know the depth is almost 3" from the Window track to the door so I am guessing about a .25-.50 spacer would do it and also how much cutting would have to be done casue if the K2P;s would be as good in the Midbass then it should be an easer install.

    Thanks

Well the K2P's cost about 4 times what the MMC690's cost so naturally theyll be a better speaker.

Did you run direct from your amp to the mid and had your amp full range then went via the crossover to the tweeter having your amp high-passed?

How much did you have to cut out to make them fit?

Dude, if youre trying to decide between a $600 speaker and a $100 speaker - get the $600 speaker.

I ran the front channels thru the crossover to the tweeter. Then I ran the rear channels straight to the mids.

You wont have to cut a ton but you will have to do some trimming.
