I might try 80hz just as a starting place. (On my old pre/pro it was set to "Small") I love mine and don't think it has a hole at all. Brightness on the other hand is more subjective and there are some people who just don't like the tri-lam tweeter. What equipment and other speakers are you using it with?

using an onkyo 805 as a pre-pro with an emotiva lpa-1 amp, with polk rti100 for mains, and rti38,s for surrounds. The system sounds good...except the cs350 center, its like it is in your face if volume is turned up. I have tried the crossovers, from 60, 70, 80...nothing seems to work. None of my other speakers are bright, just the center. Im trying to find a csi40 to replace it with, but not having any luck

Replacing it with a CSi40 sounds like a good idea. It would match your speakers and it just sounds like you are unhappy with the CS350. Where are you located?

texas...

Ah shoot, I found a CS400i on Seattle CL. To many confusing 4s and 0s.
-
there is a cs400i on ebay..you think it would match up better?
-
Definitely better match than the CS350. They have different tweeters in that the 400 has the newer tri-lam where the 40 has the older silk dome.
-
You want to use a CSi40. The CS350LS has the same Tri Lam tweet as the CS400(i). The CSi40 has a poymer silk dome the matches your RTi100 mains.
The brightness is from the Tri lam. You'll never get the front stage to blend with it in your line up.
As far as a crossover point, it'll do 60Hz and some... -
hey thanks for the info..i was just about to bid on the cs400 on ebay. Any idea where i could find a cs40 besides ebay, and audiogon? I have searched all the forums, with no luck
