First off, thats an old wives tale.

Way back when oval speakers werent as rigid as round ones so they broke up and distorted easier. Thats not the case today with QUALITY drivers. A good set of 6x9's like the MMC690's are just as rigid as any round cones and wont break up and so you get just as clean a sound as from a 6.5 but you also get the superior low frequency response that you get via the extra cone area of the bigger 6x9.

Worthless. Theyre not sealed, not even close so theyre useless as an enclosure - and you wouldnt want them as an enclosure because theyre way too small. I suppose you could use them to shelter your speakers from moisture and all that but Ive never had a problem with that.
