    I bought my kids the PS2. The game selection seems to be much better than the XBox or GameCube.

    PS2 comes ready to play DVDs for one. Xbox you have to buy a sepereate kit to play DVDs.

    Game selection seems to be better for PS2 as well. They're cheaper too. ;)

    A friend just got a PS2 yesterday. Grand Theft Auto Vice City is wayyyy cool! I love going into "Vigilante Mode" and just mowing down street gangs. Hi-jacking a tour bus is great too! :D

    My Nephews also have PS2 and a Game Cube.

    PS2 is it!!!

    XBOX all the way.

    It has better graphics. sound, playability, and controller.

    XBOX is for the hardcore gamer because it is basically like a computer trasistion.

    I like it because it has the games I want to play like Halo, Splinter Cell, Dead or Alive 3, The Thing, and so on. No foofoo girly games here.

    No stupid Mario or Yoshi, No powerpuff girls, just gaming.

    The DVD player in the Xbox is far superior to Sony's BTW.:cool:

    That thing has around 25 buttons, and is a monster! You have to think about wtf your doing! whats the fun in that? you gotta think while playing a video game??? CMON!!! lol

    Also if you guys didnt know, most if not all the games on Xbox are coming out on computer, the xbox is technically for people that dont have the bills to buy a computer. Its the same thing in most respect...but thats my op, Halo is suposed to come out on computer sometime in the near/far future

    I grew up around game systems, i've played them for the past 11 years. Im a hardcore gamer, and Personally almost all the xbox games I have played, have either been cool for the first 2 days, then sucks, or it just either sucks or is boreing. Their graphics are superior, but the speed in itself on the Xbox is slow, compared to the gamecube its a snail. Games like madden, the graphics are alot better on the gamecube, no contest - I would go with PS2 neday, 1000+ game chioce, and everything. Graphics may not be the best, audio may not be the best, but when your playing a game audio and video only goes so far.

    You are right it's all about the games but ask yourself this

    How long has the PS2 been out compared to the XBOX.

    If you are hardcore gamer you should know it takes time for third-party companies to come on board.

    the only Sony product i have in my entire house.. PS2

    it's the only way to go. Best selection of games.. and can double as a DVD player right out of the box.

    I hate to brake the ice upon the water
    but all MICROSOFT is gonna do, is screw u!
    their gonna make the next xbox non-compatible, and make it where you have to buy the new system to play the new games! I mean as much as I hate sony, I gotta hand it to em, they are doing it all the smart way!

    I've played all of them quite a bit. I own a Cube, but I think the xbox is probably the best. The hard drive is a big plus, and it seems like it gets all the exclusive games. That's the thing that sucks on the cube. It's a good system, but not enough software. I've heard the PS2 dvd is pretty much horrible as far as dvd players go. I'd rather have a good stand-alone dvd player. I don't really like the controller or the graphics either.

    I got a PS2 mainly because I already had a PS and a few games. Besides Final Fantasy isn't on X-box.

    I don't play with it anymore anyways. Atleast until they come out with a FFXI or the wife finally beats my Tetris score of 183,000.

    Ok well, how about u do a ton of research, and see if you can play all 3 systems, and when you decide which one is better, you choose which one you want to buy! LOL! i mean that is the most senseful thing to do, since everyone has different opinions.

    And considering that one game cool to another may suck to you...so think about that

    Just found out last night that GTA Vice City is DTS capable! I had bullets whizzing by my head and prostitues whispering in my ear. It was nice....

    You can get a hard drive, linux, and network/modem kit for the ps2 as well. And it's NOT made by Microsoft! ;) (big plus)

    I asked for a Nintendo GameCube for Xmas! I've always been a nintendo fan since I was a wee tot, so I guess I'm just trying to get back to those days.
