Bought these used for a great deal but 2 of the 3 tweeters in each are not working. I pulled them and switched places. The problem is following the tweeters, so I guess its time for replacement or repair. Any advice for repair, or should I just scrap em, and upgrade the sl3000's?

That's certainly a personal decision but the general Club Polk consensus is that the replacement RD-0198 is a better tweeter overall. You could replace them in pairs to limit the cost for now.
It's a nogo for repair.
If you were already happy with the sound, try looking for a couple replacements either here via WTB or on eBay(Example).
Good luck.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Good to see you made it here. I'd bet you could find a few used SL3000s here from folks who are upgrading to silk domes.

I may have to do that John. Anyone have any preference on which tweet they like better in these giants?

Hey, welcome to the forum! I'm sorry it took this to get you here, but in time you will be hooked up and running again. Heck, you may even learn a few things and gain some friends along the way.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Welcome to Club Polk jcmanic. Sorry to hear about your woes. You can also try removing the tweeter and wire it directly to an amplifier at very, very low volume for a short test. This would rule out any connection or crossover problems within the speaker. Just another way of checking to see if the tweeters are actually bad before spending $48 each on new RDO-198's. If they are bad. You should buy six new tweeters to get the proper timbre match.
Good luck and welcome!Carl -
Another easy test if you have a multi-meter, you could measure the ohm load between the tweeters terminals and if it reads "0" they are dead.SDA SRS 2.3
