Just who exactly could you buy it from?

Now granted, I've pretty much decided I want an Epik Valor...

But, does EVERYONE use Bash/Indigo designed amps???

Don't you have 3 other threads about what subwoofer to buy?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

VMPS Larger...j/k. I have no experience with the Valor and therefore cannot contribute. If you want I could make recommendations without understanding what you want out of your sub, or hell without even hearing the gear I recommend as many seem to do. Or I could just recommend what I own because.

Therefore I recommend either the Valor because it is supposed to be sick, or the SVS PB12/2 because I own it which must make it awesome.

Sid -- ask Chad to build you a passive Epik Valor sub and you can power it with a separate amp. Whatever amp you use will probably sound better than a BASH plate amp.

I dont remember if I posted pics of my room recently or not...

    But --

The Valor, oddly enough, regardless of its size will fit right behind my preamp and CDP and on the bottom shelf of my TV stand without any issues what-so-ever... so wont take up anymore floor space than what is taken up now...

Now granted, if it were a little smaller, itd help. But setting the Valor on its side, on the bottom shelf would be awesome...

I dont want anymore passive subs.... to much **** involved... lol

Agreed. You have extra space needed for the amp, extra ICs to connect it, extra calibration, extra crossovers, and you can pretty much plan on whatever Odyssey amp you have powering it to need some service every 3-4months :)

Go with something small and conventional. Are you needing a 15" that goes to 18hz, or can you get by with a nice 10" sub that hits 21hz at a reasonable level? How about REL or something classy and musical.

Elemental Designs, doesn't use Bash amps.

All of my Odyssey stuff has been great...

Only thing that has given me problems is the preamp...

Which was a new design, and they were rushing to get them out...

So I expected something to be wrong...

I just dont want to send it in because it sounds to good... lol

I checked out eD -- looked high quality, but I dont want a down firing subwoofer

Stop farting around already!! :) Just order either an SPL or DD series sub from Velodyne & call it a day. They'll be no more worries about upgrading down the road.

OK, but prepare for a sonic downgrade. As we all know, separate amps generally sound better, so the Valor probably won't sound as good as the VMPS subs you had.
