A real TV experience

Had one of those experiences last night that you usally associate with TV shows....

I'm sitting at a stop light in the right hand lane (with my 2 kids in the back seat), and a car flies through the left lane (running the red light) going about 80. Clipped a car turning onto our road and then shot across the median, lost rubber, sparks flying, etc. I stopped to check on the woman in the car that had been hit, and a couple of minutes later we start looking for the other car. Nothing. Ran across the road and checked the other ditch.. nothing. About 2 minutes after that, about a block away, the other car comes screaming out of a parking lot.. engine is screaming at least.. he isn't going too fast given that the driver's side of the car is on both rims! Sparks flying, metal scraping, engine screaming, and he's making about 3 mph, trying to get away. 30 seconds later and two cop cars have stopped and the officers are approaching the car, with palms resting on pistol butts.

My co-worker in the next office lives with the secretary of the Police Chief.. but we haven't found out yet if the guy was on anything, drunk, whatever.

But.. a very interesting experience.. one that I'll probably never see again.. but I saw it once!

    Where were you?

You are lucky that you did not get wacked since your kids were in the car.

    Actually, luckier than I knew.

Turns out the guy had a diabetic reaction.. essentially went into a little mini coma, or at least into his own world. He could VERY easily have rammed into the back of our car going 80, pushing both of us into the third car.
