Well i have the RTi12 and i was powering them with 2 carver m1.5ts and it sounded very good. The thing is that i added an eq for when i listened to 2 channel audio and the leds on the carver started to jump and got really close to the top led and the would mean a a total of 1200 watts going to each speaker and the speakers are only rated for 500 max. So now i only have one hooked up and it sounds great even if i turn off the 2 powered subs. I hope this helps if you have any other questions please ask.
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

I would suggest that 200 watts (Cfrizz will be so proud) from a high current amp would make them sound their best. I have the RTi-10s, very similar to the A9s, and they sound great with my B&K amp. Remember quality and current are very important so even a lower wattage amp from a good manufacturer would make them sing. The usual recomendations are B&K, Parasound, Rotel but I am parital to B&K.
