For those that can appreciate British comedy and a bit of whackiness, check out this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hell yeah! Much better than that crap Liberalwood puts out as comedy.

    Eh,

It was hyped up too much to me as the funniest comedy ever... I just didn't think it was that funny. I did laugh a few times, but maybe it's just me.

I think I wanted it to be better than it was. Worthy of rental in my book, but not a buy.

Your mileage my vary of course :)

Watched it... LOVED IT! Any movie with a midget in it = instant classic! Heh...

Alan Tudyk on drugs made the movie though. Every scene he was in cracked me up.

We watched this last night. It was slow to start, but once it got going it was great. Funniest newer release I've seen in a while.

You lost me at the oxymoron "British comedy."

When I was young, Benny Hill was the only Brit worth laughing at. Nothing good since then has come out of not-so Great Britian.

Fawlty Towers, Monty Python's collected works and John Cleese in general are cornerstones of British Comedy. Very good stuff.

Watched it last night and liked it. I laughed hard in the appropriate places. As stated, it took a little while to get in stride. My only complaint is that I think they just missed it. The actors just didn't quite have the chemistry. In comedy, timing, facial expression, underplay/overplay need to be spot on. The material was there, just not quite insync. Looking at the gag reel, I can see why. These "serious" brit actors couldn't stop cracking up and every scene needed a series of takes that might have left the best stuff on the cutting room floor.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE
