NAD C320BEE Integrated Amplifier - Grey - 9/10 - *SOLD*

This IA and it's cousin the C325 BEE always get glowing reviews. The C320 BEE was chosen as the 2005 Hi-Fi Product of the Year. The C325BEE has officially replaced this unit as of 2008.

I've owned a truck full of NAD gear over the years and this is a great IA. It's built well, 4ohm stable, will power much more than you would think and is the workhorse of the NAD lineup. It's got about 200 hours, most of it idle, and comes with original everything. Please take a minute and read the information below.

This is from NAD - "As technology continues to evolve, NAD engineers place a particular emphasis on how those technologies can trickle-down into the entry-level line of components. This has played a major role in our success over the years as we continue to make what critics hail at the "best" even better. The concept behind the C320BEE was to create a simple to operate component that delivers an amazing amount of effective power with finesse and overall flexibility. Technologies found in the C320BEE date back to the famous 3020 (worlds best selling amplifier) designed by the famed Bjorn Edvardsen. The solid internal amplifier is stable down to 2-ohms and features the same PowerDrive™ technology found on even our highest-end offerings. With 7 line inputs, main amp inputs and pre-amp outputs, the 320 remains flexible with additional room to expand."

2 x 50W Minimum Continuous Power into 4 / 8 ohms
110W, 160W, 210W, IHF Dynamic power into 8, 4 and 2 ohms, respectively
PowerDrive™ amplifier technology

Great little IA! I have the NAD C720BEE receiver which is supposed to have the same amp section in it, and it will amaze you. LSi7's, not a problem to drive, and drive well. A friend has this same amp driving a pair of B&O S45-2 with the Peerless tweeters, and it is pure heaven to listen to!

That's a nice piece of gear you have DKG, thanks for the comments as well. Do you have any pictures of that B&O rig?

Sadly, I used to own those B&O S45-2's, but sold them to my friend about 8 yrs ago. He had an older Pioneer receiver driving them, and it went bad and he sold it and bought a NAD C320BEE and NAD CD player to replace the Pioneer. The rigs in his man-room at his cabin! I've spent a lot of time there listening to CD's, shooting the sh$t, and drinking some fine whiskey and tequilia :)

My NAD C720BEE is currently paired with my Paradigm Studio Ref 20 v3's and a NAD C521BEE CDP. It's a sweet combination also.

Are those stuffed animals filled with lead shot? :) No derail, just a couple of guys talking about their NAD's.

No, but the stands are filled with about 50 lbs of lead shot each! The stuffed animals are anti-cat devices. The kids play video games on the HT system, as evidenced by the PS2 that's hooked up. My youngest has an abundance of stuffed toys and dolls so they've kind of over-flowed into my room! If I move them, she hauls them all back in there. It's better than having her try to balance stuffed toys on top of the Magnepan's

The pictures have been added.....finally. Is anyone looking for just an Amplifier? and not an Integrated Amplifier?

not exactly, but i sure would love to find a nice preamp with a remote!

having a hard time finding something worthy of driving the gfa-545 that either has a remote, or is something i can currently afford, in this bush economy. was considering a matching adcom unit, but i dont need or particularly want a tuner, and the adcoms pres do not seem to get a lot of love. i am using the pre-outs of a nad integrated that (a) has no remote and (b) seems like a waste of its capabilities. sounds good, but the wife is too lazy to get up for volume adjustments, lol.

I'm a firm believer in a remote control....wasted capabilities are low on the list for me :)

I've got a buddy at work who's in the preliminary stages of audiophilia, I showed him this but he needs something with a phono input. He's looking to stay at $275 or below for an integrated or seperates, got any ideas?

Strider - depending on what speakers he needs to drive, this IA might be the best quality per $ he will find, or close to it anyway. He might consider this IA, and then picking up a separate used phono pre.

Strider - I don't have anything with a phono input handy but might on Friday. I think the NAD phono stages of yesteryear are very nice but like DKG mentioned, I'd suggest an outboard phono pre-amp as well. Tell your buddy to take baby steps and enjoy the ride. I have ClearAudio phono pre-amp but we're over his budget at this point.

He's got an old Technics DD he's been itching to hook up, he asked me what I thought and that probably wasn't his best idea, if you know what I mean. If you come across an inexpensive amp, I have a pre with phono inputs I can sell him, or at least let him use.

dkg- He doesn't even have speakers yet. Been on the lookout for some 5jr's or equivalent for him. He loves music, which we bs about all the time. Kinda got me started talking about the audio end of things, and I guess it was just a matter of time before we wound up here. :)

I have run my NAD C720BEE receiver on vintage Polk (Monitor 10, 7, and 5) and it is a great combination. The C720BEE has essentially the same pre/amp sections as this IA. It would be an outstanding combination if that is the type of speakers he is looking at. I've also run my LSi7's with the NAD receiver, and it powers them very well also.

I second the polk combo. I ran the model up (c352) as both an integrated and a separate amplifier for a few years off vintage polks and LSi 7's and 9's. This would make a perfect piece to build a flexible foundation of a 2ch system.

The sweet thing about these NAD's is that you can run them as a pre-amp, amp or one shot deal as an integrated. Lays out the footwork well for trying out different gear along the way.

FWIW, I sold my c352 for almost double this asking price. Someone snatch it ;)

Just curious, but has anyone ever used this model as a power amp only via it's main-ins and compared it to an Adcom GFA-535?
